Zion National Park

We finished our road trip through the Southwest at Zion National Park. We saw plenty of red rock on our trip, but Zion’s chiseled vermillion canyons were unrivaled in their majesty.

Driving Down Cost Per Wear With Matching Separates

I’ve been incorporating more separates into my closet in my ongoing effort to maximize the mileage I get out of each and every piece in my wardrobe. Here are a few of the many ways I’ve worn some matching separates this year, incorporating them into everything from casual everyday outfits to black tie affair appropriate looks.

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Today I am sharing my everyday makeup routine because this is a request I get a lot more often than I expected (my expectation being never), especially after I did my own makeup for my engagement shoot and wedding. As I mentioned in my skincare post, I prefer my everyday makeup to be pretty minimal, and this is what I have found works for my face. When I was trying to hack my own wedding makeup, I know how helpful it was to get product recommendations from other Asian women with similar facial features, so while I am by NO means a makeup guru (I only started wearing makeup after college), I hope this post is informative and helpful!

Why I Left Law School

After about the fiftieth person asked me why I left law school, I resolved to write up my reasons (and reflections in hindsight) one day, print copies, and keep them on me at all times to hand out like business cards. I’m only half joking.

Being More Conscious This Holiday Shopping Season

I am still learning and by no means am I perfectly green in my shopping habits, but one thing I want to say is that being more eco-conscious as a consumer doesn’t necessarily mean we have to shell out all our money for a new closet filled with ethical, sustainable brands.

I know that can be expensive, and not everyone is in a place to pay $200 for a top. Especially with the holidays coming up, I think we can focus on shopping less overall—getting as much wear out of the pieces we already have and not falling into the trap of mistaking a want for a need, even if that “must-have” piece is 50% off.

Arizona Itinerary 1/2

We flew into Phoenix and drove our rental through Sedona, Flagstaff, and Page over three days. While we weren’t able to hit up everything on our bucket list (most notably Monument Valley and the Vermillion Cliffs), we thoroughly enjoyed our road trip through the heart of the American Southwest.

My Winter Skin Care Routine

I never really took care of my skin until college. Having grown up in the south, I never needed to, really, but my first NYC winter did a number on my dry, sensitive, and eczema-prone skin. Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve found the following products keep my skin moisturized and minimally inflamed through the frigid and dry months. Especially if you’re like me and prefer to wear minimal makeup (i.e. no foundation, just concealer on trouble spots), taking care of your skin is a worthy investment as it saves you time in the mornings getting ready and $$ you’d spend on makeup!

Oahu | Hawaii Itinerary

Since we were flying into Oahu anyways, we decided to stay for a few days to explore the island. We were pretty jet lagged coming from Japan, so we took it easy. The majority of our time in Hawaii was spent on Maui and Kauai, itineraries for which I will also be sharing as separate blog posts.
